Wedding Anniversary

April 11th, 2008 by Angelyn

Wedding Rings

Lord,  we rejoice on this day, our wedding anniversary. We invite You to fill us with Your Presence. May we always remain grateful for the sanctity of this holy union.

Our path has not always been strewn with roses. We have had our share of difficulties. But they can never outweigh the blessings that You have bestowed upon us.

Thank You, Lord for drawing us together.

Thank You, Lord that our love has grown each year of this union.

Thank You, Lord that our respect of You and each other has increased with each year of our togetherness.

Thank You, Lord that we are both committed to our wedding vows.

Thank You, Lord  for the time You have granted to us, and we humbly ask for continuance of days.

We celebrate Your wisdom in designing marriage and we thank You for each other. Grant that we might continue to be supportive and respectful to one another.

As we honor Christ as the head of our household, we can freely ask for Your blessings.

We thank You as we recognize the value of our spouse in Your Kingdom and how we contribute, and we pray that You revitalize us day by day to keep this marriage strong and Godly. May we never fail You or one another.

We are praising You for this wonderful celebration and we are thanking You, in Jesus’ name for this day, this year, and all that is yet to be. Amen

Happy New Year !

January 1st, 2008 by Angelyn

New Year

I am the New Year.
I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.
I am your next chance at the art of living.

I am your opportunity
to practice what you have learned during
the last twelve months about life.
All that you sought the past year
and failed to find is hidden in me;
I am waiting for you to search it out
again and with more determination.

All the good that you tried to do
for others and didn’t achieve last year
is mine to grant– providing you have
fewer selfish and conflicting desires.

In me lies the potential
of all that you dreamed but didn’t
dare to do, all that you hoped
but did not perform.

All you prayed for
but did not yet experience -
these dreams slumber lightly,
waiting to be awakened by the touch
of an enduring purpose -

I am your opportunity
to renew your allegiance to Him who said,
“behold, I make all things new.”
I am the new year.

And the Saviour Was Born

Nativity 1

One of the most beautiful nativity scenes I have seen in this country, an antique, can be found at Chair of Saint Peter’s Church, Bangkok.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !

Christmas Day

December 25th, 2007 by Angelyn

Nativity Scene

Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds,  and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake.   Amen.

CCD Christmas Pageant

December 24th, 2007 by Angelyn

Giving Tree

Our parish CCD Christmas  Pageant was  held December 16th,  with unique presentations from students of different grades. JM’s fouth grade class acted as choir of angels which sang Silent Night to the accompaniment of guitar and piano. Photo above shows JM sitting near a very simple giving tree with gift bags containing toys and books for orphans.

Feels to shy to be photographed in his angel costume.

The Twenty-Fourth of December

December 24th, 2007 by Angelyn

 Santa Claus

The clock ticks slowly, slowly in the hall,

And slower and more slow the long hours crawl;

It seems as though today

Would never pass away;

The clock ticks slowly, s-l-o-w-l-y in the hall.

Bethlehem

December 17th, 2007 by Angelyn

Birth of Jesus

“And she brought forth her first-born Son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes.”

- Luke 2:7

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

A little child,

A shining star.

A stable rude,

The door ajar.

Yet in that place,

So crude, folorn,

The Hope of all

The world was born.
